True to its name, Always in the Shade Creek (Chíx’i Héen, aka No Name Creek) stayed frozen a lot longer than everything around, impeding further construction of the Cross Trail Phase 6 extension until last month.
But the Sitka Trail Works crew is back at it and building up the abutments for the future bridge! To meet the grade of the steep slopes to the south, the base of the bridge will be elevated considerably. After the bridge, the focus will shift to the Cruise Ship Connector Trail.
