We invite you to the Sitka Confluence Rendezvous on Wednesday, February 27th at the Baranof Island Brewing Company.  This is the second in a series of community-based outdoor recreation economy sector meetings taking place around the state.  A portion of the proceeds from taproom sales will be donated to us here at Sitka Trail Works.

The PFD application period is open! It is time for Alaskans to file for a 2019 PFD. As you apply, we hope you will consider Sitka Trail Works for a donation through the Pick.Click.Give. program! In 2018, 55 of you donated a total of $3,250 to Sitka Trail Works using Pick.Click.Give.  We hope you’ll help us

  Mary-Alice Henry is departing our board after serving since 2009.  We appreciate the enthusiasm she showed while leading hikes.  She has also been a fun board member, always providing valuable input.  Her advocacy for the Indian River Trail was particularly helpful in getting trail repairs completed.  Thank you Mary-Alice!

  Sitka Trail Works would like to thank the City and Borough of Sitka & the Assembly for providing us with a $8714 non-profit grant! We will be using this grant to leverage other funds for trail maintenance projects.              

  Thank you to everyone that has contributed to the Cross Trail Match campaign. On Tuesday, September 25 we met & exceeded our final goal of $1065.88 for this portion of the funding of a $25,000 local match. Thank you all for your support of Sitka Trail Works & phase 6 of Cross Trail.

In our spring newsletter, we asked for member input on potential outdoor amphitheater sites.  The Board’s goal is to promote existing trails by adding value and attracting new trail users.  We are still looking for more amphitheater site suggestions. Sitka Trail Works is proud to welcome new board member Dawn Johnson! Dawn moved to Sitka in 2010 from the sunny beaches of Florida. She currently works as the Director of Sitka’s non-profit community center, Hames Center. Dawn graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and minor in Photography.
